Real Estate Market in Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo, Ontario

The real estate market is today highly diversified, even when we talk about same city or province. For this episode of Real Estate 101: The Home Buying Realtors Ken and Laima Scott of klsrealty.com discuss the real estate market in Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo, Ontario.

Whose Market is it? Buyer’s or Seller’s?

Asked what kind of real estate market Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo is right now, Ken described it as “hot”, not just in the area he and his wife Laima are operating, but in Ontario as a whole. At the moment, he explains, most people are pricing a house for sale a bit higher than they actually expect to sell it for and end up selling it at a higher price than that.

In other words, the seller is in control right now, at least when it comes to Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo region, especially with the inventory down.

How do a Husband and Wife Work Together in Real Estate Market?

With most husband and wife realtor teams, one spouse does one thing and the other one something else. It’s pretty much the same with Ken and Laima, where Laima typically works with buyers , while Ken does the listings and the offers.

However, as they  both explain, they do most of the things together, such as going to listings or talking to interested buyers or sellers, so there’s no definite line where only one of them does a specific thing.

When it comes to her part (buyers), Laima says the market is currently challenging with the buyers. This, she says, is because the market is so strong and it may take two or three times before the buyer finally decides to purchase a real estate property.
