When people are going through a family law dispute, a case conference may apply and with it comes a first meeting with a judge. Normally the first meeting happens with the parties, their lawyers and a judge. A case conference allows the parties an opportunity to provide the judge with each side of events, but more focus is put on the issues that can be dealt with during the case conference.
A case conference in family law also allows each party to understand what will be issues, and what may not be issues. Sometimes people think certain things may be an issue and then find out during the case conference that those things may not be issues and other things arise.
